This day in history:
Martin Luther King, Jr., aged 39, is assassinated by James Earl Ray while standing on the balcony of the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee.
April 4, 1968 - 44 years ago today.
It sucks being white because…
You cant talk about the fact that Martin Luther King slept with 3 different women and beat one of them the night before he was shot, without being a racist.
Wiley, whether it has to do with race or racism, Martin Luther King’s contribution to civil rights in America should not be reduced by the choices he made in his personal life. It was not what he did in his personal life that caused riots in over 180 cities after his death, it was what he did in his public one. King helped create a movement based on equality that helped free, not just blacks, but minorities as a whole. His hypocrisy is hard to ignore, but the man should not be known by his womanizing, but by his dream and his unstoppable will to fight for the correction of a key flaw in American history. Refrain from judging his personal life, that makes you no better than the true bigots who vehemently opposed King. Remember him for the fundamental change in American life and law he helped create and the tragedy of his death.
